Last Chance for Free Scrap Lumber, Clean Sandy Soil or Chunks of Concrete!
by Robert Fortunato on May 5th, 2011 3 Comments

Unfortunately, one of the people in the neighborhood (you know who you are) is complaining to the city about our lumber pile.  Therefore we have to get a dumpster out to the site in the next week.  So, if you need any of the above for projects from furniture to firewood, please contact us at info@greenideahouse.com.

Fortunately, Lisa Ryder Moore, a good friend of the Green Idea House and guru of all things recycled, is helping us get a dumpster that will make sure that at least 80% of the contents are diverted from the landfill (hopefully more).

pallet manufacturers like scrap lumber, and if you have nothing but clean sandy dirt and concrete like the picture shows, then that can go to an inert engineered fill like Chandler. If you sort out the concrete, they will crush that and make crushed misc. base for use in road building, and building foundations. Both pallet manufacturers and concrete recycling facilities are listed in the following guide http://www.lacitysan.org/solid_resources/pdfs/C&D_guide.pdf
